After two successful years of running a sock knitting club, Blue Moon Fiber Arts turned to Hop Studios to make the 2008 club blog easy to use and attractive.

Hop Studios used some of Blue Moon’s own yarn to create a custom design to reflects the club’s knitterly spirit and attitude. In addition to the design, Hop Studios worked with Blue Moon to identify the help of a couple of “blog moms” who will help to keep the dialogue courteous, friendly and fun, while giving Blue Moon staff a quick heads up when technical issues or other problems arise.

We used WordPress, set up to allow members of the sock club to post to the blog and leave comments, but closing that interaction to the public. Hop Studios also worked to develop help text and respond to login problems as the blog launched in early 2008.

And no, we didn’t get paid in yarn, although Susie sort of hoped that would happen!
