Electro-Harmonix is a company based in Long Island, NY, that sells distortion pedals, pro audio gear and accessories. The existing web site was created entirely in Flash and did not meet their growth needs. When we were approached by the project manager of the site, Scott Matthews, he had redone the site and taken it as far as he could using HTML and graphics. He needed help templating the site for ExpressionEngine, as well as configuring EE to handle the different “sections” of content.
Hop Studios’ role on the project was as developer only, as the design work was done by Scott himself. We installed and configured EE, integrating the design, setting up the sections for content, and then training Scott in using EE to input data, alter templates, tag, categorize, and add additional functionality on his own. In order to keep costs down, we basically set up EE to receive the content, but EHX was responsible for populating the site. A blog has also been integrated into the new design with plenty of interesting video content featuring demos of EHX products.
