The Knight Commission is a high-profile independent board founded in 1989 that reviews the ongoing evolution of college sports in America. They hold regular summits and public meetings, and serve as a clearinghouse for debate and consensus about the role of sporting in higher education.
For this site, Hop Studios has done some pretty nifty work, if we do say so ourselves. (We do.)
The site serves three constituencies: students, educators and the media. So the site gives you the chance to identify yourself as one of those and remembers your choice. Visitors get shown content and tools most relevant to their profession.
We used Flickr to handle the photo display on the site, and set it up so that any student coud submit photos to be included in the site’s photo rotation (once those photos were approved by an administrator). There are multiple site RSS feeds, and some other interactive features like polls.
The KCNN site wanted to stream the video of their annual meetings, so we found a way to maximize their reach while minimizing their bandwidth bill.
