An annual conference held in Vancouver that explores, educates and celebrates personal blogging and innovations in the field of online social media.

Susannah Gardner has been a speaker every year this conference has been held starting in 2005, and Travis Smith has, since 2007, been one of the conference organizers—he’s now the society secretary. Northern Voice an all-volunteer organization, and while comparable blogging conferences regularly cost $500 or $1000 to attend, the fees for this one are still in the $40 / day range, thanks to the commitment of the organizing committee to keep the conference accessible to all.

This conference is considered the leading tech conference in Vancouver, and in 2009, it sold out all 600 tickets in 3 days.  Hop Studios has been happy to support the conference on a pro bono basis over the years.

Susannah’s talks have run the gamut from ways to improve your blog’s design, to introduction tours of blogging tools. Travis has made presentations about how to be a community journalist to an enthusiastic crowd.
