Variety.com is the daily newspaper of the entertainment business.  Subscriptions are about $300 / year, and there are about 35,000 subscribers.  Not a bad business.

Travis was the editor of Variety.com from 2000-2004.  During that time, the site won several major awards and many nominations, including a Min’s Best of the Web award.

The site also increased revenues significantly, tripled the number of articles published online daily, added blogs and began the practice of breaking news online instead of holding it for print. Variety.com was the first online newspaper to offer RSS feeds. After Travis left Variety to start Hop Studios, he continued to consult and write for the showbiz newspaper.
