We're often asked to work on university department Web sites, or sites for classes or for students. We have a strong background in education, and we like the mandate of educational Web sites. We also are very familiar with the need for multiple levels of access and control when you have students, staff and admins all working on one site.

Project: UBC School of Library, Archival and Information Studies

The School of Library, Archival and Information Studies (SLAIS) is an academic program at UBC. SLAIS has their own program-specific site which they maintain themselves, and is built with flat HTML files. They have future plans to move to a CMS, which was not part of this phase of the project, but in the meantime they came to Hop Studios in need of an update in site design. Because SLAIS is a UBC program one important requirement of the redesign was to incorporate the school’s blue and gold colours and also accommodate both the UBC logo and SLAIS program logo.
