Odette Morin is the Founder & Senior Financial Planner at You First, a financial consulting firm based in Vancouver. Working with Alex Brabant of eMarketing101 as an adviser on how to improve SEO for the site, Odette approached Hop Studios about integrating a blog with the existing You First web site. The blog is part of a long-term plan to increase traffic, interest, and business opportunities through a growing web presence. The company did not have a blog previously, so a major part of the project was to train employees on how to use the software and how to blog.

The blog’s look incorporates elements and colours from the existing site design. Features specific to the blog are save and share icons for the most popular social networking sites, and a printable page option, located at the bottom of each entry. The blog was built in ExpressionEngine and integrates seamlessly with the main site. There is also a tagging module installed, which will be an excellent tool in increasing SEO.
