My wife, Rahal, and our daughter, Adeera, and I plan to move back to Pakistan in a couple of years, and work in the area of education and women's rights. Cheers!

Shashank left the star and is now in grad school at Harvard, but does occasional work for knight ridder still (they sent him to China this summer and had him working at Knight Ridder's Beijing bureau and filing stories for the news service). He was a Missouri correspondent for the Kansas City Star. Here's the exact email: "I graduated in May 2001 and took the summer off. In August I started as Missouri correspondent for The Kansas City Star. I cover news and trends around the state of Missouri, which is a great job because of the mix of travel, breaking news, quirky features and issue stories. Today (Jan. 2) I saw falling snow for the first time I can remember."

Esme transferred to USC her junior year and quickly became a favorite of the Daily Trojan and the Annenberg School for Communication. As Kevin Pang mentioned, she wrote a moving story about the transgender community at 'SC that people still talk about today. After graduating in May 2003, Esme went to The Oregonian for a summer reporting internship. She continues at The O for its two-year minority program. If the paper's smart, it'll never let her go, says Yvonne Ngai, who added that Bermudez also accomplished a feat that most women only dream about -- capturing the heart of the dashing David (Cisneros) Ovalle.

Berry spent four years on the staff of the Daily Trojan. After graduating in 1989, she worked as a business reporter at the Arizona Republic. Then, she was hired by The New York Times as a new assistant in their Writing Program. After four years in New York, she returned to Los Angeles as a reporter for Investor's Business Daily. In 1996, Berry opened a bureau in Miami for Dow Jones Newswires, where some of her stories were published in the Wall Street Journal. She left Miami in 1999 to become a business reporter at the Orange County Register, where she won a Society of Business Editors and Writer's award for her coverage of the 2001 California energy crisis. Berry left the Orange County Register in 2002 and worked briefly as a reporter at the Associated Press in Los Angeles before becoming a reporter at the Los Angeles Business Journal.

Mr. Biggs used to be found on numerous occasions gazing in a stupor at the home page of the L.A. Times web site, which he did the programming for. He awoke one day and went to Lot11, where the hipsters hang out. Lot 11 was then bought by USWeb Santa Monica, AKA Dreammedia, and Wes was styling. He went to Elite, but has since moved on. Now, he teaches an introductory journalism class at USC in addition to his regular job. Wes is half of the Wes-&-Sarah married couple, bonded in late June, 1998. He played in the band Happybomb with Ryan Reed, Jordan Crane and K.T. Wiegman.

Alan Bine (Biné actually), who worked on the DT with Dan Smith, Sue Bernard Bryant, Hal Drake, Jim Perry, Steve Bisheff, Allan Malamud, Hazel Browning and a host of other characters, has been a publications editor promoting the continuing ed program at the University of Washington in Seattle for nearly 20 years now. After graduating in 1964, he worked as a reporter for the South Bay Daily Breeze and as an employee communications specialist for Southern California Gas Co. before moving to Seattle in 1979. In his free time, Bine writes whimsical poetry, greeting cards and songs.

I began representing the Jackson Family very early in my career, so I guess I got lucky and always had celebrity clients. Suge Knight heard about me and hired me to work for his record company, as their attorney. I have written an authorized celebrity autobiography, and am looking for a publisher."
