Likely the first female sports editor. My network reports that Linda was a senior who spent the fall of '80 in one of those semester-at-sea programs, and that she dated another sports staffer at some point. To which I say, who hasn't? I could use some more current info here, folks.

Kendra confides: "After graduating, I spent the next five years reporting at daily newspapers in Wyoming and New Jersey (glamor spots, I know). In the 90s I earned an MBA from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Business at Northwestern University and moved to the business side of publishing. I'm currently V.P. of National Travel at Rand McNally [in Skokie, IL, outside of Chicago]. I try to catch up with Jessica (Freidheim) Faulkner when I'm in California. I've been enjoying life in Chicago for the past 13 years. My husband and I and our two dogs live in the Lakeview section of the city (near Wrigley Field) and are fully gutting and re-habbing a house in the Old Irving Park section. We hope to be in the house by the first of 2004."

Worked at Times Mirror, I recall. Started as a lawyer for the company in the 1960s. President and CEO until his retirement in 1994 at age 65. A great supporter of the Daily Trojan, and a tremendouly successful alum. He retired in 1994. This editor has managed to forget most everything he learned working at the Los Angeles Times, unfortunately.
