Taylor grew up in Coronado, CA and is the third generation in her family to have served in the military. She was a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy from 1989 - 1994. She volunteered for the McCain for President effort in 2000 and met a number of POWs who were campaigning on behalf of Senator McCain. She wrote a book called "Open Doors" about American POWs 30 years after they were released. Taylor is a former account director with public relations agency Burson-Marsteller and likes to write and volunteer. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of Little Brothers - Friends of the Elderly in San Francisco. She holds a B.A. in Journalism from the University of Southern California and an M.S. in Marketing Communications from Northwestern University.

Most of my info was quite correct: I married my Disneyland co-worker (a Matterhorn climber) in February 1998 after an engagement on top the Eiffel Tower, and I did keep my maiden name. We bought a house in Fullerton where I'm a full-time freelance journalist and writer. I made the leap into self-employment in 2001 as a 30th birthday present to myself. I couldn't quite keep up the 'corporate journalism' facade. And it's been a terrific adventure so far. Aside from work, Patrick and I travel, fix up the fixer-upper we bought, watch other DT grads on TV (like Laz, with his astounding sports knowledge) and volunteer at dog-rescue organizations. No kids yet, just dogs."

Rick Kissell has been the primary primetime ratings reporter for Variety and Daily Variety since February 2000. He has provided commentary and analysis to such outlets as "Access Hollywood" and public radio's KCRW. Rick is a graduate of the USC School of Journalism. A numbers guy, Rick is also a big sports fan, having served as a sports reporter earlier in his career. He started out as a reporter at the Daily Breeze in his hometown of Torrance.

Herb Klein, a DT sports editor in the 1940s, went on to be communications director in the Nixon White House and later a top news executive (Vice President and Editor-in-Chief, by one account) with Copley Newspapers in San Diego. Kevin McKenna said so. Herb is also the author of "Making It Perfectly Clear: An Inside Account of Nixon's Love-Hate Relationship with the Media" (Doubleday, 1980), a memoir of his 20+ years working alongside Richard Nixon. He's a life member of the USC Board of Trustees.

In 2001 he co-wrote and produced "Powercut," a feature-length drama shot and edited in the DV (digital video) format. He also hosted a cooking show on local television, interviewing Bahamian celebrities as they prepared their favorite food. In 2004, Manny returned to Southern California and will finally earn his BA in Cinema-Television in May 2005.

Matt was only on the DT for one semester, as an assistant sports editor in Fall 1999. He didn't have much time for it because he worked at the Los Angeles Daily News throughout his USC years. He was also an Allan Malamud Scholarship winner in 2001. His loitering paid off, though, as he was offered a sportswriter position at the LADN months before his graduation. Matt now covers mostly prep stuff, but did finagle a trip to the NBA Finals.
