Who I'm Reading |

As you know, I'm on this new diet. It's called "The Austerity Plan," and basically, it involves no actual eating limitations.
I admit this is pretty liberal for a diet.
But the siet does mean I give up other things I totally love, things that aren't directly tied to the biological imperative to eat. So now, instead of thinking, "Boy, I want to have a chocolate bar," I'm busy thinking, "Boy, I'd like to sleep in," and if I want to make that happen, I better head down to the exercise room.
Well, in the past 6 weeks, I've lost about 17 pounds, going from 189 lbs. to 172 lbs. or so (I think it went up a bit because my Mom came to town and I ended up eating some REALLY big meals for a few days). Whatever, I'm pleased with my progress. The privileges I've gotten back are: using Flickr, and watching TV, and I think that's great.
I'm now using belt holes again that haven't seen action since the Clinton administration. I've also discovered that, underneath what was a somewhat paunchy, slouched and generally sub-athletic-looking exterior, there lurks the old me. Who apparently used to be a fairly scrawny, gangly, pale, sleep-deprived-looking guy. So that's thrilling, I'm sure you can understand.
When I meet my goal of losing 32 pounds total, I'll take a picture and post it.
Oh, and a boy shouldn't talk about his girl's weight, but Susie's lost more than me.
