Strangers in the Cafe, Exchanging Glances

Meeting someone you’ve never met before is an error-fraught process. Where do you meet? What do you say first? How do you make a first impression?

Short Sharp Blows

A few quick notes about the things I’ve done: musicians heard, my sister Virginia learning stick, work, friends, and the memory of racing my parent’s car when I was 16.

Overheard

“An unexamined life is not worth living.”

...who said it?

“BBFF (Best Bacon Friends Forever)”

...who said it?

“I find myself thinking of a checklist Wozniak wrote a few years ago describing how to become a genius. His advice was straightforward yet strangely terrible: You must clarify your goals, gain knowledge through spaced repetition, preserve health, work steadily, minimize stress, refuse interruption, and never resist sleep when tired. This should lead to radically improved intelligence and creativity. The only cost: turning your back on every convention of social life.”

...who said it?

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream.”

...who said it?

“Ever have something in your teeth that you cannot stop tonguing?”

...who said it?
