If you’re reading this, Hop Studios has survived a very scary migration from their old sucky Web host, Jumpline (no link to them!).
We’re now hosted on our favorite Web host, Nexcess.net. I absolutely love Nexcess.net, and I’m mad at myself for not having moved all our sites over a year or more ago. They’ve been extremely helpful, considering how complicated this migration was.
For the record, I had to move 6 databases, 8 domains, 5 subdomains, 7 blogs on 3 blogging tools, a whole bunch of cgi scripts, several gigs of files, a big pile of email accounts that all forwarded to each other and everywhere, and one extremely snazzy email-to-ftp-to-web page nightmare that seemed like a good idea at the time but now makes me think I was delirious when I wrote it.
If you ever need a Web host, definitely sign up with Nexcess. After all that—the new site’s a lot faster, too.
“The most common human act that writing a novel resembles is lying. We lie daily, very complexly, and at great length. If not for our excessive vanity and our over-active imaginations, we would be quite difficult to deceive.”
You can scroll right easily by holding down the SHIFT key and using your scroll wheel. (Firefox users trying this will end up jumping to old Web pages until a) Firefox releases a fix, b) they change their settings like so.)
