Not all of my entries are going to be emailed from now on. Just the REALLY GREAT ones. This is not one of those.
I was eating an apple today, and I thought to myself: Have I ever eaten an apple with a worm in it?
I should clarify that I don’t mean “and not known about it.” That thought gives me the willies, along with the false statistic that the average person eats 4, 8 or 10 spiders in their sleep over the course of their life.
Anyway, my point is, you instantly pictured an apple with a worm sticking out of it, smiling and waving, when I asked the question, but has it EVER actually happened to you?
Probably not, and that’s what I find so interesting about food in America. Think of ALL the food that’s prepared in kitchens all over the place, think of all those bags of pre-shredded salad you’ve eaten, and think how infrequently you’ve run into a bug.
Now think of a camping trip you’ve gone on, or think of the markets you’ve seen in undeveloped countries, if you’ve been lucky enough to travel there. LOTS of bugs.
So, seeing as I have no point, I’ll end here, and that’s why this one ain’t emailed.
