Travis Smith: my resume, bio and photos back to the main blog page

Did everyone remember to set their clocks back?

I didn’t.  Susie and I bolted out of bed to the ding dong of our friends CJ and Elaine arriving for a fun-filled day of cake decorating and CD buying.

This journal is going to be so short your head will spin, but that’s good news.  The reason it’s short is that it has INSTRUCTIONS that you might want to READ so you can STOP GETTING this (or so you can get friends to sign up).

I’ve automated this whole list-y thing, so now you can unsubscribe without offending anyone, or writing directly to me, or anything like that.

+================
| To unsubscribe, send e-mail to
| with "unsubscribe" in the subject.

It’s that easy.

+================
| To subscribe, send ANYTHING to .

(I suppose if you’re not subscribed, and you send a request to unsubscribe to , the universe will end.  Don’t Try That.)

Anyway, that’s all the instructions for today.  I’ll tell you the tale of “The Cat of Amontillado” next time.  For now, here’s a link to Edgar Allan Poe’s earlier version.

One day, I’ll digitize the student film based on that story that I starred in.  Would you like to see that?

Overheard

“Even on the most exalted throne in the world we are only sitting on our own bottom.”

...who said it?

“Everyday, think as you wake up, today I am fortunate to be alive, I have a precious human life, I am not going to waste it. I am going to use all my energies to develop myself, to expand my heart out to others; to achieve enlightenment for the benefit of all beings. I am going to have kind thoughts towards others, I am not going to get angry or think badly about others. I am going to benefit others as much as I can.”

...who said it?

“A man should ever be ready booted to take his journey.”

...who said it?

“From Obedience and submission comes all our virtues, and all sin is comes from self-opinion.”

...who said it?

“Man is the only animal whose existence is a problem that he has to solve.”

...who said it?
