You know how once someone gets on your bad side, nothing they can do is right?

Well, Rogers Cellular just pissed me off again.  They charged me a late payment of $0.90.

My payment was due March 6.  I set Royal Bank to make the payment on March 6.  Royal Bank took away that money on March 6.

But Rogers says they only got the money on March 8.  So I asked Royal Bank if this was a usual delay, or what had happened. They said:

When paying your bills through Online Banking, it may take up to five business days for the creditor to apply the payment to your account. In most cases, the creditor will date the payment to reflect the actual payment date. However, this is not guaranteed, and is dependant on how the individual creditor handles electronic payments.

Rogers doesn’t do that, apparently.  And why does it take 48 hours to make an ELECTRONIC transfer? Clearly, my bank isn’t printing out a check and mailing it like it does with other bill pays—but whatever.

If you have a single example of Rogers Cellular putting the customer first, please share it.

Oh, and Rogers also screwed up another bill before this, in January.  I just didn’t have the energy to point that one out.  But the February bill was fine, so that’s one month since I signed up in September that’s free of Rogers’ snafus.
