Thursday night, I went to the monthly blogger meetup in Vancouver. While I was there, I saw about 15 people. There could be more after I left (around 8).
Hop Studios is official sponsoring the Vancouver Blogger Meetups for the next six months, and I was glad there was a diverse crowd.
I had expected more people but maybe:
Star Wars was opening
the long weekend was beginning
the venue was different
the skys were POURING rain like it was leaking from a tub
I took a few photos, and tried to imagine what each person I photographed was thinking. I’ve tried to be funny—please tell me if I missed the mark.
“I find myself thinking of a checklist Wozniak wrote a few years ago describing how to become a genius. His advice was straightforward yet strangely terrible: You must clarify your goals, gain knowledge through spaced repetition, preserve health, work steadily, minimize stress, refuse interruption, and never resist sleep when tired. This should lead to radically improved intelligence and creativity. The only cost: turning your back on every convention of social life.”
“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream.”
