I say that this is odds and ends, but really it’s a beginning.  I mean, I’m starting to write something.  That’s a beginning, no?

I have so many loose ends in front of me right now.  Literally in front of me: Every angle of my vision is filled with another loose end.  In front of me: my digital camera.  I need a tripod for it.  I need to charge the battery.

To my right, an iTunes gift card.  It’s for $20.  But it’s for iTunes Canada, and I have an account with iTunes U.S. store.  Does anyone want to buy a $20 iTunes gift card from me?

To my left, my sister’s car keys.  She’s still trying to sell her car, and by that I mean, she has her car parked in front of my house and I’m somehow supposed to make it magically sell itself.  But it won’t.  Even though I took pictures of it and posted it on Craig’s List.

Behind me, Christmas cards.  I want to put them away, but I need to jot down the wonderful, sweet and optimistic people who sent them to Susie and I even though we were big snow flakes this year and sent out very few of our own.

In the kitchen, many, many pounds of boxes from Los Angeles that just arrived here, need to be unpacked.  What’s in them? I don’t know.  Where should we put them? On bookshelves that don’t exist.  Or in the garage, if it dries out a bit.

Maybe I should forget all that and get started on renting a car and finding a house sitter, for my upcoming trip.

Or failing all that, I could upgrade my blog software and write about my friend George.  Or go watch the Olympics with Susie—she’s knitting a cat sack (yeah, I didn’t even ask, I mean, you just gotta nod sometimes) and wants to be done by the time the Games are over.

And lest you think I was wasting the day—I got up at 7, had breakfast out with old and new friends, played frisbee, played a Magic (card game) tournament, read a whole book, put new light bulbs in three rooms, replaced the shower head, made dinner, posted photos of yesterday’s hike, did tech support for my Mom and wrote to an old friend.

I might even finish editing a book tonight, though likely that’ll happen tomorrow.

Oh, and if anyone knows how to stop the Mac from re-asking me my keyword password every 10 minutes over and over and over, please let me know.  It’s getting super frustrating.
