I Almost Forgot I Almost Died

Susie has a ticket to Paris for later this month—leaving on the 16th.  She’s been very excited about her trip, which would be her and a close girlfriend who’s never been to Paris before.

However, it seems like a trip to Paris might be altogether too memorable, or risky.  I’m starting to think travelling there would be a bad idea, and that she should skip the trip, or fly in and immedaitely depart for another safer city, like Pamplona.

On the other hand, there has been little disturbance in Paris proper, and she hasn’t been back in ages, and this trip would be an excellent one, and the money’s already spent.

What do you all think?

Update: Susie decided to go, on the sage advice of a friend living in Paris.

Overheard

“The summer weather is expected to last well into next week.”

...who said it?

“Watch your step as you exit the train, and if you’re late, just remember that life is a lot like being on this train: we may not be there yet, but we’re getting there.”

...who said it?

“There are four boxes to be used in defense of liberty: soap, ballot, jury, and ammo. Please use in that order.”

...who said it?

“Description: MySQL server has gone away”

...who said it?

“According to Golf Digest, from 1996 to 2007, Woods made $769,440,709. Golf Digest predicts that, by 2010, Woods will become the world’s first athlete to pass one billion dollars in earnings.”

Of course, I don't have tickets, so I can't say exactly how I'd feel. But I would say that you shouldn't worry about it too much. Someone told me that there were 26,000 cars burned in rioting last year in France, but we weren't worried about it then...

She should definitely go. Storm and fury, signifying nothing (well, nothing life-threatening, anyway). Tell her to have a cafe creme and pain au chocolat for me.

Er, Theatre major here. That's 'sound and fury'.

As for Paris, indeed, bon voyage, bon chance et bon vacances. That's all I got.

"Told by an idiot" wink I stand corrected.
