James lent me a racquet.  I have not yet used it.  It is now one of the several leisure-time activity devices that taunt me and stress me out.  Of all the things I am behind on, the thing I’m the furthest behind on, is my leisure.

I have a stack of library books—not just any, but ones I especially requested.  I have a new game for my Wii.  I have an ever growing list of TiVo-ed shows.  I’ve borrowed the Buffy the Vampire DVDs from a friend—that in itself is a 22x6.5x48 minute commitment—I don’t even have time to do the math!

But I did find time tonight to go to dinner with Rachael, Rachael’s mom, Kai and Susie at our favorite restaurant, Hapa Izakaya.  It was, as always, delicious.  Afterwards, we took a short drive down to the UBC Museum of Anthropology, where admission was free (though we only left about 15 minutes to see the whole museum.

Susie and I are (90% probably) getting a new kitten, an Abyssinian from a breeder in Sooke on the island.  We just have to convince her that we’re not going to eat the kitten or let it go outside.  Apparently those two actions are seen as just about equal.  We are pretty excited about it, and spent dinner talking with each other about good names for a red short-haired cat.  One suggestion: “Ginger” like the pinup actress on Gilligan’s Island.  But I have a better idea.  I’ll share it if I get 5 other name suggestions.

And oh, we’ve had an offer on our house.  Woah.

“Oh boy! Another great opportunity for personal growth!”

An offer on your house? Yipee! that's fantastic. I think you should name the cat Sparky.

I used to have an Abyssinian-cross. She was very shy, super affectionate, highly intelligent, and loyal---she loved my dad so much she would sleep on his stomach every day during his regular afternoon nap.
