Parisian amour. (Click for detail).

Nice church in Paris that no tourist ever visits.

Susie's and my apartment on the day I left.

My couchette (sleeping compartment) companion and the conductor who offered us homemade sausage. It was very spicy and almost entirely devoid of bone chips.

My couchette-mate liked it as well. He was Hungarian, but made a living as a computer consultant in New Jersey.

Dora, a Pressflex employee, met me at the train station and took this picture.

Marie-Eve, wife of Miklos (Pressflex guy), on the tram to her parents-in-law.

Dinner at the Gaspar residence was turkey and rice balls stuffed into peppers and stewed in tomato sauce. It was really good, and I later e-mailed Zsuzsa, Miklos' mom, to ask for the recipe.

Everyone in Hungary listens with their eyes closed. (Joke.)

Happy couple.

Miklos' mom and me.

Marie-Eve relaxes after dinner.

Butterfly in the back yard. I spent the weekend at the Gaspars'.

I forget the dog's name. It was cute, but not particularly clever.

Miklos helped his father to paint a fence.

He was very happy to help.

All good projects involve power tools.

Lunch the next day was cooked over a fire in the back yard. It was a meat and bean soup, and other grilled things.

Here are the grilled things.

Miklos' grandmother's brother was in town from Israel. The day was very warm and gliders were soaring overhead. It was a great day to relax.

This is my street, Kossuth Lajos. You can see the bridge down the road (two white arches) over the Danube.

Seems like any other metro ride, except for the guy sitting with the live falcon. (Click for detail).

Parliament seen from the North.

The decrepit New York cafe, currently closed, but very imposing.

This is the view from the courtyard of by building, taken when I was apartment hunting.

The view from my window. Click for a color version taken with a friend's digital camera.

My landlord, Sharon Baruch.
