“DON’T TRY [INSTALLING] THIS AT ALL UNLESS YOU ARE A BLEEDING EDGE LINUX NUT CASE. Rational people will wait a few weeks until we have a nice, reliable, version…”

WHAT: Seen on the install page for CodeWeavers - iTunes Preview Download
FULL TEXT:
Look, let’s be honest. We wanted to release the full version of CrossOver in time to announce it for the LinuxWorld Expo. We didn’t get it done in time - it still has problems and issues we’re working on. However, for marketing reasons, we wanted to announce iTunes support at LinuxWorld. (This isn’t as awful as it sounds, we’ve made the public Wine tree run iTunes, and we wanted to get credit for that before someone else discovered that and publicized it).

So, really, this whole thing is just about as close to vaporware as you can get. But we simply could not bring ourselves to announce something without providing people a chance to run it.

So, if you’re a customer, we invite you to try out this preview, and give iTunes on Linux a spin. However, we strongly recommend that you create a new, test user account, just for this purpose.

SO INSTALL THIS INTO A SEPARATE, TEST USER ACCOUNT, OR YOU’LL BE SORRY.

Further, DON’T TRY THIS AT ALL UNLESS YOU ARE A BLEEDING EDGE LINUX NUT CASE. Rational people will wait a few weeks until we have a nice, reliable, version of CrossOver that will bring you all the CrossOver goodness, including iTunes.

Note: You will need to be logged in, and have a valid CrossOver purchase on your account to be able to download this preview.
